eNable Now Offering Free Pro-Active Security Threat Notifications

In this age of major computer security threats, we are constantly being bombarded with rumors about major new attacks.  In many cases, the notifications are attacks in themselves.

As you can imagine, we constantly get requests from our customers for information about whether a given threat is real.  As such, we spend a good bit of time researching threats.  Additionally, we are a member of InfraGard, a partnership between the FBI, private industry, and academia, whose goal is to help protect America's network infrastructure by supplying accurate threat information.  As a result, we have implemented a new free service for customers and interested parties, which will provide pro-active notification about confirmed threats.

If you wish to be on this email list, please use the link below.  We will use this list ONLY for threat notifications, and not for marketing or other purposes.

TalkSwitch Announces the TS-850i Hybrid Wireless Phone
TalkSwitch last week announced the TS-850i, a wireless phone for the TalkSwitch system.  This phone will connect to the system either via analog or IP, making it an option for any TalkSwitch user.

The TS-850i supports multiple headsets per base station, and allows for three simultaneous calls.  Since it can connect to both an analog line and the network, it can be used at home as a remote TalkSwitch extension, as well as a home cordless phone.

New eDrawer Interface
Last week, we had the opportunity to preview a copy of the next major eDrawer release.  This release will include an optional new interface which will allow eDrawer to have the look and feel of Windows folders.  Many users are more comfortable with the style of interface used in Windows Explorer.  Based on this feedback, LSSP modified eDrawer to include this interface.

If you are fond of the current three-click interface, don't worry.  Each user will have the option of selecting the interface that they prefer.  The new interface will be available to all existing customers under maintenance at no additional charge

Stay turned for more details on the new eDrawer interface.

Beware the Tactics, Part II
A few months ago, we wrote about a tactic used by a major phone carrier, in that they attempted to install a line that the customer had not ordered.  Unfortunately, the tactics used by unprincipled sales reps are many and varied.

We were asked by a customer last week to compare the cost of a TalkSwitch/VOIP solution to a hosted solution offered by a major carrier.  On the surface, the TalkSwitch solution was less expensive.  When we drilled down into their quote however, we discovered that while the solution claimed to support 9 users, they had quoted fewer phones than needed, making the solution look less expensive than it really was.  When we corrected their quote, the TalkSwitch solution offered outstanding savings.

As to whether this was an error or an intentional omission, I cannot say for certain.  The bottom line however is that you should carefully scrutinize your quotes and phone bills for such "errors".

Remember, we at eNable are happy to review your quotes and phone bills to help you save money.
